Leslie Baker, MFT, NCC, RPT-S, a national board certified counselor, registered play therapist-supervisor and a certified Gottman therapist with over 28 years of experience as a licensed marriage and family therapist. She is the owner/Director of the Therapy2Thrive® Marriage & Family Counseling Center, in Pleasanton, California. She provides training & supervision for clinicians in play therapy and Gottman Method Couples Counseling. Leslie is the author of Healing Feelings: A healing story for children coping with grownup’s mental illness and co-author of Snug and Rug and the 'No Good Very Bad Thing': A story of coping, calming and courage for children. She is a chapter author of 'Therapy in the Digital Age' in Integrating Technology in Modern Therapies: Developments and Interventions edited by Jessica Stone. Leslie retired as lead area chair and faculty for the past 25 years for various graduate school clinical psychology programs. She continues to share her expertise in writing and speaking nationally and internationally.

Healing Feelings brings hope for healing to children living with a grownup who is coping with a mental illness. The story helps children identifying feelings and helps children identify feelings their grown up may be having who are coping with a mental illness and how these feelings can impact a child and the family. The book explores ways grownup's may receive help for healing their feelings with counseling and doctors. The book explores how a child is not responsible for their grownup's feelings or mental health wellness. Healing Feelings opens up the opportunity to dialogue with children about this challenging topic.

Snug and Rug and the ‘No Good Very Bad Thing’ is the adventurous story of two unlikely creatures becoming friends and learning how to manage when things get rough after the ‘No Good Very Bad Thing’ blows through. This story helps children who experience unexpected difficulties or trauma and realize that even when a ‘no good very bad thing’ blows through they can feel better. This book includes an activity with tips for parents, caregivers and counselors to create a soothing blanket with a child that can remind the child that they are courageous and resilient no matter when a ‘no good very bad thing’ blows through. Snug and Rug and the ‘No Good Very Bad Thing’ also includes a coloring book, which provides another soothing opportunity for children.
