Alzi Faubion, LPC, RPT, is a seasoned play therapist with over 43 years of experience supporting children and families across the United States, Portugal, and Brazil. Early in her career, she taught developmental psychology at the university level in Brazil, bringing an educatorās insight into her clinical work. Kathleen (KatySue) Tillman, PhD, LP, RPT, is a Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist and Registered Play Therapist with over two decades of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. She is also a professor, researcher, professional presenter, and author. Dr. Tillman completed her pre-doctoral internship in child-clinical and pediatric psychology at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children through the Medical College of Virginia and earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology with a Child Development concentration from the University of North Dakota. She also holds masterās degrees in both Community Counseling and School Counseling.
A pioneer in the field of tele-play therapy, Dr. Tillman has been offering play therapy via telehealth since 2013. Terry Kottman developed Adlerian Play Therapy, an approach to working with children, families, and adults that blends the principles of Individual Psychology with the creative, relational power of play. She is the founder of the League of Extraordinary Adlerian Play Therapists (LEAPT) and the creator of the certification program in Adlerian Play Therapy. Known for her engaging teaching style and deep clinical insight, Terry regularly writes and teaches on the topic of play therapy across the country.
Terry is the co-author (with Kristin Meany-Walen) of Doing Play Therapy: From Building the Relationship to Facilitating Change and Partners in Play: An Adlerian Approach to Play Therapy, as well as the author of Play Therapy: Basics and Beyond and several other influential texts.
