Lucy is a Social Worker, Play Therapist and Certified Animal Assisted Play Therapist®️. She has worked with children and families for over 30 years and as a Play/Filial Therapist in a Child and Mental Health Service for over 15. In 2007 she started training with Rise VanFleet and Tracie Faa-Thompson in Animal Assisted Play Therapy®️. Her rescued Lurcher, Lykke trained with her and was an outstanding play Therapy dog, helping many children in a way they both enjoyed. Lucy’s Animal Assisted Play Therapy®️ Practice “Paws 4 Play” was established in 2010. She was the first person to become Certified and in 2015 won the prestigious ‘Kirrie Award’ for outstanding contributions and dedication to the field of Animal Assisted Play Therapy®. Lucy is a level 1 trainer/supervisor in Animal Assisted Play Therapy® and enjoys helping new practitioners. Lucy is studying more about working with dogs and is an assistant dog trainer. Lucy has written for magazines and journals and presented at conferences on Animal Assisted Play Therapy®.
