Training Overview

Many clients do not come into therapy saying they have trauma.

Instead, what shows up may look like anxiety, panic, shame, numbness, perfectionism, avoidance, grief, anger, shutdown, or relationship patterns that seem difficult to change.

Sometimes clients understand what happened. Sometimes they have insight, coping skills, and a strong therapeutic relationship, but something still feels stuck emotionally, relationally, or in the body.

EMDR Therapy Basic Training gives clinicians a clear, ethical, and structured way to begin helping clients process painful experiences with greater confidence and care.

Throughout the training, you will learn to understand trauma through the Adaptive Information Processing model, assess client readiness, prepare clients for processing, support memory processing, and begin thoughtfully integrating EMDR therapy into your clinical practice.

Instruction, demonstration, supervised practice, and consultation are used to help you learn the standard EMDR therapy model in a way that is practical, grounded, and faithful to the model.

Why Attend?

This training may be a good fit for you if you want to:

  • Help clients who continue to feel stuck even after gaining insight or learning coping skills.

  • Better understand how trauma can appear when clients do not identify their experiences as trauma.

  • Know when a client is ready for processing and when additional preparation may be needed.

  • Feel more grounded when clients become flooded, disconnected, avoidant, or shut down.

  • Develop a structured way of thinking clinically through the EMDR model.

  • Practice EMDR with guidance, feedback, consultation, and support.

These themes are directly reflected in the current January 2027 CE-Go training description.
