Sabra Starnes, LICSW, LCSW-C, RPT-S™, is a nationally recognized trainer, speaker, and therapist with over two decades of experience supporting children, teens, and families. She is the owner of Next Place Therapy Services, LLC—a group practice grounded in play therapy and trauma-informed care—and the founder of the Next Place Therapy Foundation, a nonprofit serving adoptees and adoptive families across the country.

Sabra is known for her engaging and practical trainings on adoption, foster care, cultural humility, and clinical supervision. She creates and designs her own continuing education courses and is an approved provider through APT, NBCC, and ASWB. Her clinical work and trainings draw from advanced training in Brainspotting, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sandtray Therapy, Theraplay®, and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). She is also a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator.

An adoptee herself, Sabra brings both personal insight and professional wisdom to her work. She holds degrees from Bennett College, Catholic University, and American University, and is passionate about attachment-based, expressive, and culturally responsive therapies. She is also deeply committed to mentoring and supervising fellow clinicians.
