Dr. Taylor is an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida. She earned her doctoral degree in Counseling and completed her masters degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas. She founded and directs the Center for Play Therapy for Training and Research where she leads a team of Masters and Doctoral Students - Play Leaders Advocating for Youth (P.L.A.Y.). She has published over 30 articles, majority focusing on Adlerian play therapy with children. She is a certified child-centered play therapist supervisor, a certified child parent relationship therapist supervisor, and a trained Adlerian play therapist, supervisor, and trainer. Dalena is a wife and mother to three precious daughters who put her skills as a play therapist to work daily.
