Danyale Weems owns a private group practice in rural Georgia where she specializes in children, adolescents and adults with complex trauma and neurodevelopmental disorders. She has worked with children and adolescents for over 18 years who have experienced multiple types of trauma. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, AutPlay certified, EMDR Certified and an EMDR Consultant in Training. She is nationally certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She provides training and supervision locally.
During Danyale's career she developed and implemented a school based mental health program through a grant in a Community Mental Health Agency setting. This program was developed in 5 schools, and 2 systems. She provided play therapy integrating expressive arts, sand tray and other modalities. Danyale traveled between these 5 schools providing play therapy. During the summer and other breaks, she provided in-home services. Danyale's foundational orientation is child centered play and integrating other modalities as client's need.
