Theresa is a trauma specialist who is a play therapy supervisor in Canada. She is the owner of Maritime Play Therapy Centre in Nova Scotia Canada which provides foundation and continuing education play therapy training. She also has a counselling agency known as Changing Steps Child and Family Counselling in Prince Edward Island and Ontario Canada. Theresa and her husband were treatment foster parents for almost thirty years and they are also adoptive parents. She is well known internationally as a Sandtray Trainer was honoured in 2021 to become a member of the Lowenfeld Trust. She uses EMDR, Brainspotting, SSP and theraplay informed activities in her practice. She is also a consultant for children's mental health programs. In 2022 she and Rita Grayson released the book: the Embodied Brain and Sandtray Therapy: stories of healing and transformation.
