Dr. KatieSue Tillman
Kathleen (KatySue) Tillman, PhD, is a Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist and Registered Play Therapist who is an experienced clinician, professor, researcher, professional presenter, and author. Dr. Tillman completed her pre-doctoral internship in child-clinical and pediatric psychology at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children through the Medical College of Virginia before earning her PhD in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Child Development from the University of North Dakota. Dr. Tillman also has masters degrees in Community Counseling and School Counseling. She has been providing assessment and counseling services to children, adolescents, and families since 2001.
Dr. Tillman is a pioneer in the field of tele-play therapy and has been providing play therapy services via tele-health to children, adolescents, and families since 2013. At the beginning of stay-at-home orders for COVID-19, Dr. Tillman developed and delivered the first foundational trainings in tele-play therapy. These trainings were initially viewed by over 5,000 therapists across the world. Dr. Tillman's approach to tele-play therapy is anchored in developmentally and theoretically sound assessment practices that are evidenced-based.
