Jackie Flynn
Let Me Introduce You to Jackie
Jackie Flynn is a trauma therapist, EMDR trainer, and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor™ who has dedicated her career to helping children, teens, and families heal in ways that feel safe, creative, and deeply connected. She is the author of the EMDR with Kids Flip Chart: A Play-Based Tool for Trauma Processing, Nervous System Regulation, and the Transformation of Adaptive Behaviors. Jackie is also the creator of EMDR Playground, EMDR with Kids, Play Therapy Community, and the founder and host of the Innovative Child Therapy Symposium.
Jackie is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Trainer who teaches EMDR with deep respect for fidelity while honoring the nervous system and the lived realities of children. Her work thoughtfully integrates the structure of EMDR with the natural language of play, relationship, sensory experience, and nervous system regulation.
Drawing from the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, polyvagal-informed practice, the neurosequential model, and years of clinical experience with complex trauma, Jackie’s approach is warm, experiential, and practical. She is passionate about helping therapists feel more confident, connected, and steady in their work by offering tools that are easy to understand and rooted in real clinical moments.
Before becoming a full-time trainer and educator, Jackie worked as a school counselor and developed a lifelong commitment to helping young people regulate, make meaning, and move toward healing in ways that feel authentic and developmentally attuned.
The Innovative Child Therapy Symposium
Seven years ago, Jackie created the Innovative Child Therapy Symposium for clinicians who were looking for deeper, more creative, and nervous-system-informed ways to support children, teens, and families.
Through play therapy, sandtray, EMDR, expressive therapies, attachment, and trauma-informed care, the symposium was designed to help clinicians feel more confident, connected, inspired, and supported in the meaningful work they do every day.
The symposium brings together therapists, counselors, social workers, educators, and healing professionals from around the world who want practical tools, experiential learning, and compassionate approaches that truly meet children where they are.
