Dr. Stephen Vinson
Let Me Introduce You to Stephen
Stephen Vinson, Ed.D, LCSW-QS, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in the Department of Social Work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Florida and Texas. He earned his BSW and MSW from the University of West Florida and his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Florida State University. His research focuses on the experiences of Black males, particularly related to identity, mental health, and well-being in predominantly White settings.
In addition to his academic work, Stephen is the co-owner of The Bridge Counseling and Consulting, where he works with children, teens, adults, and couples navigating concerns such as anxiety, trauma, anger, ADHD, parenting challenges, divorce, and relationship stress. He incorporates play therapy into his clinical work and has a special interest in sports-based play therapy as a creative and engaging approach to helping clients process emotions, build insight, and strengthen coping skills.
