Dr. KatySue Tillman is a Licensed Psychologist, Registered Play Therapist, and Registered Sand Therapist–Consultant/Trainer who specializes in integrating sand therapy, play therapy, and expressive approaches into clinical practice. She is also the founder of the Telehealth Sand Therapy Kit, an innovative clinical tool designed to bring the power of physical sand, tangible miniatures, and symbolic expression into telehealth settings while maintaining fidelity to traditional sand therapy practice.
Dr. KatySue has been a pioneer in telehealth play therapy and sand therapy, implementing these approaches in virtual settings years before the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to the worldwide transition to online care, she provided free live webinars to more than 5,000 play therapists across the globe, helping clinicians adapt in-person interventions for synchronous telehealth practice. Through her clinical work, research, trainings, and consultation, Dr. KatySue continues to expand access to effective, experiential mental health care for children, families, and clinicians worldwide.
